The Oxford Encyclopaedia of the Music of India (OEMI) in three volumes covers history, theory and technical terms, musicians and scholars, and instruments related to Indian music. Edited by the Sangeet Mahabharati, it was published by the Oxford University Press in 2011. Out of the total of 5,000 encyclopaedia entries, approximately 2,000 on musicians and 500 on raga names were extracted to build this database.
